ISTD EXAMINATIONS

We are passionate about pushing our dancers not only competitively, but through examinations as well, ensuring they develop strong technique, discipline, and confidence at every stage of their training. If your child takes part in a class that covers ISTD or RAD syllabus, Rowena will in touch when your child is ready for an exam. Rowena is also qualified to teach Acro through Acrobatic Arts.

The ISTD is one of the world’s leading dance teaching and examining organizations.Its exams are internationally recognized and can even earn UCAS points, giving students an edge when applying to colleges or universities. Meet Rowena

ISTD DDE, RAD RTS, (BA) Hons in Dance Education

Meet Rowena Cousins, a highly respected member of staff here at Berkshire Dance Academy and our Manager of Examinations. We are so so proud to have Rowena on board. She holds an impressive range of qualifications, including ISTD Modern Theatre and Tap DDE, RAD RTS, and a 1st Class (BA) Hons in Dance Education from RAD. She has also completed the Acrobatic Arts Module Level 1. Her dedication to dance education is evident—so much so that her dissertation is proudly displayed in the RAD library. Rowena is passionate about guiding our dancers through examinations as well as performance, helping them build technique, confidence, and a love for the art form.
